Dog summary

A crazy energetic 1 year old pup who loves to swim and play like it's nobody's business

When excited, she will bounce from couch to couch in our living room, and, because of the way it is designed, will also literally bounce off the walls.

Does best

While it may seem like her planning skills may not be the best, Petra's ability to catch objects midair in a full sprint exceeds all other dogs I have ever known.

Fun Story

Last summer, when Petra was just a wee pup (much smaller than she is now), we filled up a plastic kid's pool for her to play in out in our back yard. Her being the water-loving dog she is, she had an absolute blast splashing in and out of the pool. However, Petra is also a lover of digging. As the day wore on she found herself becoming less and less satisfied with merely jumping in and out of the pool. No, today, this dog would dig herself the biggest hole a dog could, burrowing through whatever was in her way, including the bottom of the pool. The fact that she could still play with the water while doing so was a nice bonus. Digging and water at the same time?! Her dream come true. So she began her quest, impenetrable focus quickly leading her to break through the bottom of the pool, not through simply digging, but by a more creative means. By dragging, spinning, and dragging some more, this mighty dog, using the very ground she was digging in as her tool, not only broke through, but ripped a considerable percentage of the bottom of the pool wide open, flooding the yard with the remnants of the pool water, dissipating along with the fun of her short lived toy. Needless to say, we never replaced it. She now makes do with an old bucket.
